How can I earn Karma/points?

It is actually easy:

After you registered on Radiolopolis, you can immediately earn points by:

  • Inviting friends to Radiolopolis
  • Making friends
  • Joining groups
  • Creating your own groups (e.g. residency groups, special interest groups etc.)
  • Uploading Radiology cases / Radiology images
  • Uploading Radiology related videos
  • Adding Radiology related video feeds from Youtube or Google
  • Posting in discussion forums
  • Blogging (you have automatically your own Radiology blog as a Radiolopolis member!)
  • Creating teaching files with the newly integrated and ARRS and ECR awarded Radiology teaching file program Radiology Teacher

The following is a detailed list of our point system.

Radiolopolis point system: (You can only start collecting points after you uploaded your profile picture)

About Karma and the Radiolopolis point system:

Radiolopolis incorporates a comprehensive award system. Members who contribute to our community receive points for their actions, which in return will open more opportunities for them (e.g. access to more valuable information, tools etc.). Contributions like cases, video uploads, forum posts, group memberships and friendships are highly valued on Radiolopolis. The more you contribute, the more points you earn.  Your karma growth also proportional to your earned points. Karma is a contribution indicator and is symbolized by the green karma chalices below your name.

RAJNIKANT,
Could you please be specific with the "restrictions"?
Everything is freely available. If you are referring to the Radiology Boards access, it is clearly stated why there are certain requirements. There are people behind developing these programs who do this for free - spend their time and resources for our members. Please respect these people and their work. Otherwise you don't have to use these programs. You may also purchase similar type of contents for hundreds and thousands of Dollars by commercial sites. We go by our philosophy that with sharing we come faster forward - we provide something useful for the community, you provide something useful for the community.

Written boards access
written by Roland Talanow , May 05, 2011
Paul,
There are some updates for the Radiology Boards: Full access is now granted for everyone who creates 5 cases within one month.
Cases can be easily created in the case gallery. Diagnosis, some demographics and a description of findings is required.

Written boards access
written by Roland Talanow , April 09, 2011
Paul,
There will be soon an alternative way to gain access to the Boards exam program: by providing a certain amount of cases. This is not too much asked for. Please be aware what immense work and time it took to develop all these things for you and others - for free! Otherwise we would have to ask for a fee. Is this what you want?
There is this perception in some minds that everything should be available for free - I think this is very bold and disrespectful to all the people who sacrifice there valuable time and resources for the community.
Either pay for it or contribute! There is no excuse. This applies not to you personally, Paul - but to all!

Isn't there a way to review written board questions without going through this? I'm going thru a divorce, I have to drive 4 hours to see my kids, and I'm in a busy private practice.... Can't you just waive the requirements to allow access for tnose radiologists who truly NEED it?

Geoff,
100 points are needed to see the explanations. The quickest way is to upload several cases or videos/video feeds (e.g. from youtube or Google video)
