An unusual radiographic presentation of neurocysticercosis and a review of differential consideratio

This is a case of an uncommon cause of an intramedullary spinal mass and spinal cord edema. The patient presented with paresthesias, weakness, and saddle anesthesia. After multiple imaging studies and an open spinal biopsy, pathologic diagnosis yielded neurocysticercosis as the diagnosis. We describe this interesting case, including clinical, radiologic, and pathologic findings, along with discussion of the differential diagnosis.
