Subacute left MCA infarction due to thrombus in the left internal carotid siphon

There is restricted diffusion involving the left MCA teritory (blue asterisks in annotated image). Corresponding increased FLAIR signal is also noted in these regions (not shown), compatible with a subacute stroke. Findings compatible with thrombus are seen in the left internal carotid siphon, where there is loss of the normal flow void (see red arrows in annotated image).
