Glenohumeral Joint Sepsis after Joint Injection through a New Tattoo

Propionibacterium acnes septic arthritis following one of two shoulder arthrograms. This is a rare pathogen for shoulder infections and is possibly related to a recent tattoo that the patient had acquired that spanned the entire insertion region for the needle. Of note Propionibacterium acnes infections are usually isolated to surgical sites and hardware.

Nice case - thank you for sharing.

If you are intending to submit this as a case report, could you please provide more details, why that case should be case report worthy?

    Thank you.
